URL Parameters for Criteo

How to add the correct UTM parameters to your Criteo campaigns so we can attribute your ad spend accurately.

Written by Marc Garbella

Parameters

If you are not using any UTM parameters currently, or want to optimize your existing setup, we strongly recommend using the following snippet:

?utm_source=criteo&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=<CAMPAIGN_NAME>&klar_source=criteo&klar_cpid={{criteo_campaign_id}}&klar_agid={{adsetid}}&klar_adid={{adid}}

Important: Criteo has no dynamic parameters for campaign names. If you want to see them in the R&P Flex Table, you need to add them manually.

If you have an existing UTM parameter logic in place, you need to append the following snippet at the end of your existing parameters:

&klar_source=criteo&klar_cpid={{criteo_campaign_id}}&klar_agid={{adsetid}}&klar_adid={{adid}}

Implementation

The easiest way is to set the parameters once per ad set and let them apply to all ads in it.

  1. In Criteo, go to Campaigns → Ad sets.

  2. Click the three-dot menu next to the ad set and choose Ads tracking.

  3. Paste the parameters from above into the Tracking suffix field.

  4. Click Save and apply. Repeat for all your ad sets.

Keep your ads’ landing page URLs free of tracking parameters so nothing overrides the ad set suffix.
