⚠️ Editing UTM parameters triggers another ad review process. Make these changes at night or during a low-traffic period to minimise impact.
Pinterest has two campaign types that require different parameter setups — Catalog/Shopping and all other campaign types. Follow the relevant section below.
Catalog / Shopping Campaigns
Parameters
If you are not using UTM parameters yet, or want to optimise your existing setup, use the full snippet:

If you already have UTM parameters and just want to add Klar tracking, append this to your existing parameters:

⚠️ Do not use # in your naming convention — it cuts off everything after it in the URL.
Implementation
There is no bulk editing feature for Catalog/Shopping campaigns. Update each campaign manually:
Open the Catalog/Shopping Campaign and go to the Product groups section
Under Ad details, find the URL parameters field
Paste the UTM parameters from above into that field
Save the campaign
All Other Campaign Types

Implementation
⚠️ Add the parameters to the Destination URL field only. Do not use the Ad tracking URLs section.
There is no bulk editing feature for this campaign type. Update each ad manually:
Go to the ad level inside your campaign
Open each ad individually
Add the parameters to the end of the URL in the Destination URL field
Save the ad
Best practices
Filter by active ads to find the ones you need to update quickly — but also check paused ads that might be reactivated or duplicated later.
Update before duplicating. If you duplicate an ad without parameters, you'll end up with untracked copies.
Make changes at night to minimise ad review disruption during peak hours.
Migrating From Other Solutions
If your Pinterest ads currently use Tracify or Triple Whale parameters, you don't need to remove them. Klar attribution is compatible with both. However, we recommend switching to Klar-only parameters going forward for the highest accuracy.
