Connecting a Google Analytics 4 Account

Connect your GA4 property to Klar to bring session data into your Marketing Flex Table.

Written by Franz May

Klar uses GA4 session data to populate session-based metrics in the Marketing Flex Table — including Sessions, CVR (Conversion Rate), CPS (Cost per Session), and RPS (Revenue per Session). Without GA4 connected, these metrics will show no data.

What you need before starting:

  • A Google Analytics 4 property (not Universal Analytics)

  • A Google account with at least Viewer access to that GA4 property

Step 1: Find your GA4 Property ID

  1. Go to analytics.google.com and log in with the Google account you want to connect to Klar

  2. Click Admin (bottom left)

  3. Under the Property column, click Property Details

  4. Your Property ID is displayed in the top right — it's a numeric ID (e.g. 123456789)

  5. Copy the Property ID

Step 2: Connect GA4 in Klar

  1. In Klar, go to Store ConfiguratorData Sources

  2. Click Add Data SourceAdd New Data Source

  3. Select Google Analytics 4

  4. Enter a name for the datasource and paste your Property ID

  5. Click Connect and authenticate with your Google account

  6. Grant Klar the requested permissions to read your GA4 data

What happens next?

Session data from GA4 will appear in your Marketing Flex Table from the next data sync. Historical session data is pulled from the date your GA4 property was created.

⚠️ Make sure your GA4 property has UTM tracking set up correctly. Klar matches GA4 session data to your marketing channels based on UTM parameters — if your ad links aren't tagged with UTMs, sessions will appear as direct or unattributed traffic.
