Using the Custom Post Purchase Survey Sheet

How to upload Post Purchase Survey responses from any tool (not KnoCommerce or Fairing) into Klar — and use them to enrich your attribution data and unlock new insights.

tl;dr

Post Purchase Surveys (PPS) are one of the most effective ways to improve your attribution data. Customers tell you directly which channel brought them to your store — filling the gaps that click-based tracking can't reach.

If you use a PPS tool other than KnoCommerce or Fairing (which are natively integrated in Klar), you can still upload and analyse those responses using the Custom PPS Sheet — and map the answers directly into your Channel Builder.

Step 1: Create a Custom PPS sheet

  1. In the left sidebar, go to Store ConfiguratorData Sources

  2. Click Add Data SourceAdd New Data Source

  3. Select PPS

  4. Enter a name (e.g. PPS Sheet) and click Create Google Sheet for PPS

  5. Click on the created datasource to open its detail page, then click Open Google Sheet


Step 2: Enter your PPS responses

Fill in the sheet with one row per survey response:

  • Order ID — the order the customer placed when they answered the survey. Klar uses this to match the answer to the customer's journey

  • Question — the survey question asked (e.g. Where did you first hear about us?)

  • Response — the customer's answer (e.g. Instagram, Friend recommendation, Google)

💡 Tip: If you use a tool like Typeform, you can link it directly to the Google Sheet using IMPORTRANGE so answers appear automatically without manual copy-pasting. Guide: IMPORTRANGE in Google Sheets


Step 3: Map PPS answers to your channels

For PPS responses to boost your attribution, you need to connect the sheet to your Channel Builder and define which answer corresponds to which channel.

  1. Go to Store ConfiguratorChannels

  2. Open the channel you want to enrich (e.g. Meta Paid)

  3. Click Add Data Source Group and select your PPS sheet

  4. Add a condition: PPS AnswerContains → the answer value (e.g. Instagram)

  5. Save the channel

Klar will now use matching PPS answers to boost attribution for that channel — helping credit conversions that had no trackable click.


Step 4: Sync your data

Klar syncs the sheet automatically several times per day. To trigger an immediate update, open the datasource detail page and click Sync Data.
